Range Search

Problem: If you want to search data in particular range.                        For example, you want to show users whose age is in between 18 to 25 or those users who registered from particular year/date to particular year/date or want to search employees whose salary is between 18000 to 25000.

Solution: To resolve above problems, We are here with the Range Search with XiUS. By this you can create information on user's profile fields with specific range. So that user can search information.

For example : You can

• Search according to age which will be performed through Birth Day field.
• Search those users who have been registered within particular year range or Date range through Register Date.
• Search employee salary information from employee information.

How to Use Range Search.

Let us take an example of searching users according to their Age. For that you need to follow as-

• Create a field of Birthday for users to fill up their date of birth. (Refer: How to create Information? )
• Create an information with the Birthday field for searching users. If you don't want to allow users to search through Birthday field, then you can make it unpublished but it is mandatory to create information with this field.

• Lets check out how to create information with Range search Information Type.
  • Click on Create Information.
    
  • Select the Range search information type and click on Next.
  
  • All the information will be listed in the drop down box, whether the information is published or not.
  • Select the Respective Date field ( Birth Day in this case) and click on Next Button.
  
  • Write the Name for Information and then publish it.
  • Set the plugin parameters>>Information Type to Age-Search (See Note at Page Bottom)  and click on Save.
  
• Now user can search any person within a range of age by giving the minimum age and maximum age in two different fields from front-end.

Note: If you want to search Integer Range/Date-Range data then create respective information for them. After that set plugin parameters>>Information Type to Integer/Date-Range accordingly. Other process is similar as explained above.
