List

List is predefined set of conditions for searching users. List can also be named as static search. Through these lists user can find other users without filling any data for conditions. What they need to do is, only use these predefined lists. You can manage created lists from back-end, but there is no way to create the lists from back-end. You can also export the list of users in CSV format after searching through some condition.

Lets take an example. I want that when user click on a link and get the list of users who are from INDIA. For that I need to search for the users who are from INDIA. As my search completes I get the list of users. I will be having two options for Save and Export to CSV. Through these options I can create the list and export the list of users in CSV format.

• User can get searched results, only by clicking on link.
• Administrator can decide which Joomla user can create list through front-end.
• List creator can decide the accessibility criteria of the list.
• Admin can change List Privacy criteria from back-end.
• Sorting Order can be decided.
• And/Or Condition can be Applied.

How to configure list?

To configure a list follow the steps as written below

• You can create a link for user list by one of the following ways:
  • Create Menu link for user list from back-end.
  • Set Configuration->Integrate with JomSocial to Yes.
  • By enabling Xiuslisting module.
• After creating a link for user list, Go to Back-end Configuration -> Set Accessible User Group which can create List.

How to create list?

To create list follow the steps:

• Search the user by giving some input to the Search Panel.
• List of users will appear with the "Save a List" option at Left Top Corner. This option is visible to Administrator as well as Joomla Users who can create List.
• While Saving List, a pop up window will be opened which will ask for Saving a List as New or Save in Existing List.
• After this, You can do Settings of List by following parameters:
  • Name: Name of the List will be given here.
  • Published: Set Yes to publish the List.
  • Search Condition: It displays the search condition which you want to apply for creating list.
  • Sort By: This is the select box through which you can select the information by applying sorting.
  • Sort Oder: Set Ascending or descending sorting.
  • Match: Set Match All or Match Any condition.
  • JomSocial Privacy: By this, you can decide who can access and view the list.(Click here to know more about it.)
  • Description: You can write description of the list.
• After clicking on Save, List is created. Now applicable Users can directly search by clicking on created User List links.
• Display of created User List will be as shown.
  

Note:

• Once a List is created it can be Deleted, Published, Unpublished from back-end only.
• Administrator can change the settings of any List from back-end.
• JomSocial Privacy and JSPT Privacy can be given by admin only.
• User can only edit the list by "Save in Existing List" option.
