Force Search

It means particular search rules will always be applied and will not be shown to users. We’re here to make you more strategic, efficient and successful.

Problem: If you want that block users should not be visible when anybody search users or women employee should not be visible on search. Use this method, if you want to hide your confidential information from being searched.

Solution: To resolve above problem, We are here with the Force Search with XiUS. With this, You can create information by using user's profile fields and this information will be applied on all search process.

For example, If you want that only registered users are visible to any other user then you have to create an information on user type and add that information as force search. After this set registered as plugin parameter. After this setting, when user searches any condition force search will be added automatically with user's condition.

Other example, If you want that only male users should be visible to site members then you have to create an information on gender and select Male as force search parameter.

How to apply Force Search?

These are the step to create a new information -

1. Create Information (Refer: Create New Information)
2. You need to select Force Search to make information.

3. This page will show you all the information or in other words you can say profile fields of users. You can select any one option to make it information for XIUS.

4. This page will show you all the parameters of the Force Search. Here You have to set the parameters as describe below:

• Name :- You can give any name to the information created or going to be created. This name will be shown to you but users can't see it.
• Published :- If you want to publish the information then set it to Yes.
• Plugin Parameters :- It shows the parameters of force search which are as follow:
  
• Value: Set the value of  selected information through which you wants to apply force search. Here, You can write multiple values separated by comma. Like, Registered,Author,Publisher.
• Operator Type: Set the operator which you want to add in search query for applying condition. You can set operator like, =, <=, >=, LIKE, NOT LIKE, IN, NOT IN etc. Please not that, if you are using multiple values the only use IN and NOT IN as operator type.
  
• Other Parameters are same as other Information.

5. Click on the Save. Your Force Search is created and applied.

Important Note

• Force Search is not applied on administrator. Whenever you want to see the effect of force search, you have to login as a normal user.
