Profile Fields

Admin can control the custom fields for each profile type like their visibility and other mandatory settings.

Customize Profile fields

JomSocial provides a way to customize your profile fields, which can be controlled through JSPT. Refer to following step to customize profile fields-

  1. Click on Components => JomSocial => Custom Profiles.
  2. Now create fields as per your site's requirement.
  3. And set published, searchable, required, registration and visible settings to Yes for each Field.

Note: If Profile fields already exist then set published, searchable, required, registration and visible settings to Yes for each Field.

Control Profile fields

After customizing the profile fields, you can control these for each profiletype through JSPT. These are the following steps to control the Profile Fields. (You can also select all / None in below parameters, for applying settings to multiple profile types).

  1. Allowed: Selected profile field will only be allowed to selected Profile Type users.
  2. Required: It is mandatory to provide the selected profile field for users of selected profile type.
  3. Visible: Only selected Profile fields will be visible to the selected Profile Type users on viewing profile.
  4. Editable After Registration: By using this option you can set that whether selected profile field is editable or not after registration. If this field is not selected for a profile type then it will not be visible at the time of editing profile after registration for the user of that profile type.
  5. Editable During Registration: By using this option you can set that whether selected profile field is visible or not during registration process of that profile type. If it is not selected then this field will not be visible at the registration time.
  6. Advance Searchable: You can set for which profiletypes this field should be visible in Advance Search option at JomSocial->Friends->Advance Search.

Apply these settings for

After applying settings for one field, you can apply same settings to other fields also. Under apply these settings panel you will get list of all fields. Select the fields for which you want similar settings.
